E-Cigarette Starter Kits: What’s in Them?

We talk a lot about e-cigarette starter kits and we feel that we should take a closer look. After all, this is the thing that you are going to be relying upon when you first give up smoking; it makes sense to have knowledge of what they actually are.

There are loads of websites out there, showing off the goods of so many brands, all with their own individual take on the e-cig starter kit. There are those with bells and whistles, basic kits, middle-sized kits… It can be hard picking the perfect one for you, right?

There are a few things that you should be looking for when it comes to starter kit and if the sites that you are looking at are not offering you these things, it might be best to go back to Google and start all over again.

  • You want the right contents. There’s no point in getting a box filled with stuff that you are not going to use just so that you can have a battery and a cartridge to start you off with. Sometimes you could get the things that you need cheaper separately than in a box together, and that’s really not a sensible option for the website.
  • You want quality products. You don’t want to rip open your new box, teaingr open the packaging, grabbing at the e-cig starter kit inside only to find that they fell apart with the slightest bump on the journey to your house. That’s not cool, right?
  • You want something that looks good. As much as we all say that looks aren’t that important, you don’t want to be seen out in public smoking on something that makes you feel ridiculous. It needs to look enough like a “real” cigarette that it’s comfortable for you, but not so much so that it could alarm other people into thinking that you are actually smoking around them, especially in areas that you shouldn’t be smoking.
  • Finally, you want good value for money, right? You want to save money so there is no point in going for a starter kit that is going to cost you more than what smoking real cigarettes would have done in the first place.

Ideally, you want your starter kit to be exactly that – something you need in order to quit smoking conventional cigarettes and start to lead a healthier, happier lifestyle.

*You are going to need a minimum of 2 batteries. One will be charging and you will be puffing on the other one. If you can find a cheap enough starter kit that contains more than two batteries, it is wise to swoop on the offer.

*You are going to need 5 or so cartridges at first.

*If you are planning on refilling your cartridges or cartomizers, you should look at e-liquid but this doesn’t have to be included in your starter kit and in fact, you will find that this is rarely the case. If you are looking at just using cartridges for now, buying more when you need them, you may want to consider buying additional cartridge packs for the first few months.

*You are going to need some sort of charging unit. These come in a variety of styles and shapes – USB chargers, carry-case chargers, mains chargers…. It might be wise to consider getting two – a carry case for on-the-go charging and a USB one that you can use in the privacy of your own home.

*You may want to consider getting some sort of carry case for your new quit smoking paraphernalia and, after some time, you may even want to consider getting spares to keep at home, at work, in the car, etc. You will learn to use this device as your crutch for not smoking and running out of stuff is really going to ruin your day. Imagine the panic you feel when you don’t have enough cigarettes and you think the local store may be closed. Now times that feeling by a thousand and you are about at the right point.

You’ll find these e-cigarette starter kits will come in a variety of designs and prices. For example, you could buy the V2 Standard Kit for $59.95 giving you 10 cartridges, 2 batteries (one auto, one manual), and a mains charger plus a USB charger. V2 electronic cigarettes are also a 4.5 star reviewed e-cigarette, which you can read here – V2 Cigs Review.

On the other end of the spectrum, you have South Beach Smoke which gives you an e-cig starter kit that is the same price of $59.95 yet only contains 5 cartridges, is currently on a special offer and is normally $79.99 but is only a 3 star reviewed e-cig.

You do need to be sensible in your search for the perfect electronic cigarette starter kit and make sure that you read the reviews before you buy the product. It may look like a good deal but could it be too good to be true?
